This free online tarot card reading combines the wisdom of the ancient Labyrinth and Norse Runes, the beauty of Tarot, and two creative and unusual oracle decks.

There are many free online tarot card readings, offered by various websites. All of these are based on a simple script, and randomly give you tarot card images and their stock description. While these online tarot readings don't compare to a real, in depth reading from a practiced tarot card reader, a few unusual readings stand out above the rest. One of these is the Labyrinth.

The Decks Used in the Labyrinth Reading

The Labyrinth was developed and written by Barry Hoon. According to the website, It involves The Glastonbury Tarot by Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, The Vertical Oracle by Antero Ali, The Book of Mystical Rapture by Pete Rowe, and The Magical Runes of Odin by Jamie Blackwater. The Glastonbury Tarot is a beautifully illustrated, richly symbolic set of tarot cards.

The Vertical Oracle and The Book of Mystical Rapture are a slightly different breed of divination. They're both oracle decks, comprised of collaged images that are sometimes frightening or even nonsensical. However, the accompanying descriptions are full of insight and illumination. The Book of Mystical Rapture is especially interesting, as it was written backwards - the images were created, and then users submitted their interpretations of the cards.

The Magical Runes of Odin are a traditional set of 24 Futhark Runes. The meanings, written by Jamie Blackwater, are complex, but more easily understood and historically accurate than many rune meanings found in popular books.

The Labyrinth Technique is Unique for a Free Online Tarot Card Reading

As stated on the website, "Labyrinth is based on the Pilgrims Path method of using labyrinths developed by Sig Lonegren at Geomancy.org." Sig Lonegren explains that labyrinths are an ancient metaphysical tool, enabling a person who walks it to enter a meditative state. The seven circuit labyrinth, which is the form used by the reading, is tied to Indian concept of chakras.

These seven points on the body are each tied to a specific type of energy and ability. Sig Lonegren claims that walking the seven circuits of the labyrinth lets one focus upon each of these seven points, and the Labyrinth reading fully utilizes this idea. The deck used for each circuit is random, so the first reading may have a tarot card for the first circuit, and the next reading a rune.

As you go through the labyrinth, each circuit has a color, which in turn is tied to a specific chakra and its abilities. For example, the first turn is yellow, and is tied to the Solar Plexus chakra. As Sig Lonegren illustrates on his website, the Solar Plexus is the seat of intuition - in the Labyrinth reading, the card or rune drawn in this circuit represents the mental issues surrounding the question that begins the reading.

Seven Cards to Answer Your Question

Unlike more traditional tarot layouts that other free online tarot card readings offer, the Labyrinth is designed to focus on all of the aspects surrounding a specific question. It aims to offer insight into the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual sides of the issue. It also provides a card or rune for the first step to take, and the overall purpose or goal.

Querents who use the Labyrinth are offered a field to fill in their own thoughts and comments about each card as they receive it. After all of the circuits have been finished, the cards, their descriptions, and the user added comments are shown on one page. It's easy to save this page for later reference, which is difficult at most other tarot card sites.

The Labyrinth Offers a Free Tarot Reading Unlike Any Other

Comprised of four different divination tools, combined with a traditional seven circuit labyrinth, the Labyrinth by Barry Hoon is a unique free reading tool. It offers a wide array of insight and keywords to trigger understanding and information for the recipient of the reading. It also makes saving the results for later reference simple, and allows users to add their own comments and information as they receive each card.
